  1. Hi Karen,
    It would help a bit if I knew what kind of toilet you had as they vary so much. In my experience water around the toilet doesn’t necessarily mean that the seal on the toilet is leaking. Usually that “seal” is a large wax ring that seals the toilet to the plumbing underneath. Usually if that is leaking you would get smells from the holding tank. They also very seldom leak. More than likely the water is coming from the waterline going into the toilet or the valve than controls it. I am going to assume that you have a standard toilet with the pedal in the front or side that you push to flush. We had a leak with ours and it turned out that the valve that controls letting the water in when you push the pedal was bad. We looked up the year, make and model of the toilet on line, found the part and got it off of Amazon. I think that is the first place i would check. Carefully remove the plastic housing around the toilet, flush it, and look for water. Let me know what you see.
